The partnership between the CENTURY 21 Corporation and the national Easter Seals organization raises millions of dollars across the country each year for services Easter Seals provides to children and adults with all types of disabilities. This year our national corporation celebrates its 30 year association with Easter Seals and has set a goal to raise $5,000,000.00 dollars.
Your sponsorship of “Casino 21” will contribute to the national goal, but more importantly caregivers and their loved ones right here in Central Florida will benefit directly. The local programs include:
Easter Seals Camp Challenge in Sorrento, Florida Children and adult summer and weekend camping sessions
Easter Seals Day Break at the Miller Center in Winter Park, Florida Adult day services
Easter Seals Altrusa House in Gainesville, Florida Adult day services
Easter Seals Lifeline - Personal response service at the touch of a button
Please see Easter Seals Programs to learn more about what Easter Seals does in Central Florida.”
“Michael will be attending our event, and we will be auctioning a piece of his one-of-a-kind artwork.”
Michael has been attending Easter Seals Camp Challenge for eight years. Michael has epilepsy and Asperger's Syndrome (high functioning Autism). Michael attends camp each summer for 4 weeks and the March and December week long respite. Michael looks forward to going every year. The first time Michael attended, he came back wanting to be independent (i.e. make his own meals). Because of his high functioning level, Michael in his daily life is quite frequently put with more typical children but coming to camp gives him the opportunity to just be himself. This is the one time each year that Michael does not stand out and he has made good friends that he looks forward to seeing every year.
The counselors and staff have always been great and very caring. When we leave Michael for camp, we never worry about whether or not he is getting the absolute best in care. Michael loves to go to camp to swim and participate in all of the other outdoor activities that he typically does not get to do. From the standpoint of a single parent, Michael's camp provides a respite from the 24/7 responsibility of a special needs child, allowing me to regroup and refocus on our goals and aspirations for him. It is a win-win situation for everyone.
Our 2007 “Casino 21” was our biggest success to date. CENTURY 21 Professional Group, Inc., our gracious sponsors and all who attended were able to raise $24,988.70 and Easter Seals Central Florida named us their Corporate Sponsor of the year.
The GOLD STANDARD for “Casino 21” 2008 is even greater. We aim to raise $31,000.00 . Not only do we wish to surpass last year’s accomplishments, but our goal is to raise $21,000.00 for general funds, $5000.00 for Camper Scholarships and $5000.00 to Adopt-A-Cabin at Camp Challenge for 2 years of ongoing maintenance.
Your generous contribution can help us reach our goal. Here’s how you can get participate:

CENTURY 21 Professional Group Inc and our Easter Seals History
The First Event - Roadside Money Collections:
Thanks to Carolyn McEvers, Norma Hobby and Wendy Carugno, we started our Easter Seals pledge back in the early 1990's by standing on the street corner near Wet ‘N Wild for several hours. We managed to collect almost
$400.00 in change that day.
The First Organized Event - Bowl-a-thon #1:
Our first ever Bowl-a-thon was a success a few months later. We filled the lanes with every kind of bowlers we could find: friends, family, REALTORS® and vendors from our real estate community. The event raised almost
$2200.00 and was clearly a better start toward our efforts to do more for the good of Easter Seals.
Easter Seals Softball Tournament:
This was an event created by the Easter Seals organization, and we were invited to create a team and participate in the games. We organized some “star” volunteer players and started practicing for a few months until we felt we could rise to the occasion. While we came to play with plenty of spirit, unfortunately we didn't win, but we sure had a blast trying! That group of real estate agents, along with many family and friends, were able to showcase
CENTURY 21 Professional Group Inc ’s enthusiasm to help Easter Seals raise
several thousands of dollars in a combined effort with many other groups. Thanks to all who came to support us too; fans in the stands give you hope!!
Bowl-a-thon #2:
In early 2000, we worked very hard to again create an atmosphere to entice bowlers, vendors, sponsors and our old reliable friends and family to get the "ball" rolling again. We did it with complete success. We filled 36 lanes and raised over
$4000.00 that year. The money was reinvested with our Broker’s Council, and it allowed us to be "Top of the CENTURY" with the franchise. We were honored with a beautiful award. Being very proud of ourselves, we decided to make a bigger effort in the next years to come.
1st Annual Casino 21 event:
In 2005 we were very busy with 3 separate events! We started the year with the first annual Casino21 event. Thanks to Kristi Matthew and her hard work, big enthusiasm and persistence, she was able to pull it all together and helped us raise over
$6000.00. The evening was filled with black jack, roulette, and craps and seemed to be a big hit to say the least!
Road Rally & Car Show:
The next event in 2005 was a mini Car Rally starting at our flagship office in Dr. Phillips. With Easter Seals flag and fanfare, we paraded our vintage cars, hot rods, trucks and motorcycles to each of our 4 offices until we reached the final office in Clermont. We topped off the day with a DJ, car cruise, food, fun and games for the kids. One of the Easter Seals Campers was on hand for the event to enjoy the fun and remind us all just why we were celebrating. We raised over
$3000.00.
Golf Tournament:
To wrap up our busy 2005, our Easter Seals Golf Tournament took shape. The same fabulous family, friends and sponsors came up to the tee and again helped to make the golf outing a total success! With this final event of the year we raised over
$6000.00. Our 3 events for the year gave us top billing again for our Florida Broker’s Council, and we again received a wonderful award. These are all proudly displayed at our Dr. Phillips office.
2nd annual Casino 21:
Again with the tireless efforts of Kristi Matthews and her group of faithful sponsors, the 2006 CENTURY 21 Professional Group Inc 2nd annual Casino 21 event put us on the mark. This was the single largest dollar raising event we ever hosted. We were able to raise over
$11,000! We were “WOWED” that we could do that all with one event, and it led us to the decision to focus all our efforts on growing Casino21 every year from that point. The gaming is exciting and keeps the cash rolling in. The Silent Auctions, 50/50's, Live Auctions, food and spirits keep the night festive too. Thanks to all who sponsored and participated.
3rd annual Casino 21:
So here we are in 2007 with the 3rd annual Casino 21 event fast approaching. We have been planning since February and are making some great improvements to this year’s event by adding more gaming, music, raffles, food stations and lots of fun. We even have some artwork to auction off by our Easter Seals ambassador and camper, Michael Fryer. Our goal is
$21,000.00 and we hope you will come forward and make it happen with us!
