This very small rural town is just north of Windermere. Plants are the passion of this tiny area. One time the caladium capital of the world and horticulturist Henry Hehrling who specialized in subtropical and tropical plants all resided here. He established botanical gardens in 1884 and experimented with many bromeliad, orchid, ficus and bamboo plantings. Shade trees are everywhere including the center of town housing a circa-1920 church, a Yellow Dog Eatery- circa 1879 previously a home and general store. The post office still has a community chalkboard where notices can be posted for pot lucks and community events. Gated communities and larger parcel homes help the community continue to grow.
