Once an industrial and social hub, today the picturesque town, lies just west of Winter Garden in Orange County on the south shores of Lake Apopka. Estimated population 1,800. Incorporated in 1959 still a very rural feel with narrow clay streets to some paved roads. Oakland Avenue Charter School has brought gated communities to this traditional small town. A 19 mile West Orange Trail draws hikers and bikers every week. Originally this was the Orange Belt and Florida Midland rail beds.
